Cara Cara Oranges, also known as Red Navel Oranges, have a bright orange peel and a distinct pinkish-red, raspberry-colored flesh. (The pink shade is caused by the presence of lycopene, the same antioxidant that gives tomatoes their red color!) Compared to traditional navels, Cara Caras are extremely sweet, slightly tangy, less acidic, and have berry-like undertones reminiscent of raspberries, strawberries, or sweet cherries. Cara Cara Oranges also offer a higher amount of Vitamin A than regular Navels. If that's not enough, they're seedless, too!

Gift for a 5 year old boy

This young man liked the tangerines I sent for the holidays last year and thought I would send him the same for his birthday this year. Unfortunately, tangerine season was over, but cara cara season was not. Bigger boy, bigger fruit = happy fellow! He liked them! Sometimes it's not a toy that makes them happy.
